Guides & FAQ
Welcome to Common Events
Common Events is an independent, community-driven platform for subcultures and gatherings. We don't prioritize profit or ads—we prioritize genuine connection. This guide will walk you through every minute detail of our infrastructure.
Finding Events
There are three ways to discover what's happening: the Feed, the Map, and Search.

Engaging with the Community
Actions you take help shape the platform for everyone else.
Liking Events
Liking an event adds it to your bookmarks and signals its quality to the system. You can even see a dedicated list of your liked events in your profile.
Following Organizers
Follow your favorite collectives or venues. When you follow an organizer, you'll be the first to know when they announce something new, either through our in-app notifications or push alerts.
Sharing is Caring
Use the native share menu on your phone to send events directly to threads, signal groups, or Instagram stories. Our links are optimized with metadata to look great everywhere.
Calendar Integration
Never miss an event again by syncing our platform with your personal calendar.
Direct sync links with one click.
Universal file download for any app.

Notification Mastery
Control exactly how and when you hear from us.
Notification Types:
- Email Notifications
Weekly highlights and specific event invitations.
- Push Notifications
Requires PWA installation. Real-time alerts for 24h reminders and new events from organizers you follow.
Note: On iOS, Push Notifications are only available if you have added the app to your Home Screen.
Account Security
Manage your profile and privacy settings.
Password & Email
Found in your Profile under "Settings". We recommend using a unique password and enabling email notifications to receive security alerts.
Danger Zone (Deletion)
You can delete your account at any time. This will permanently remove your profile, likes, and any organizer status. This action cannot be undone.
Supporting the Cause
We are a non-profit initiative. Every cent donated goes directly into hosting costs, geocoding API fees, and maintaining the infrastructure.
Why Donate?
To keep this platform 100% independent and free from tracking, data sale, or advertising. You can donate via Stripe in the "Donations" section of the main menu.
